2018 Vermont murder-for-hire case: Berk Eratay, one of the four men charged in an international plot involving the abduction and murder of Gregory Davis, has pleaded guilty to wire fraud and arranging the kidnapping. Prosecutors stated that Davis had threatened to go to the FBI with information on a fraudulent multimillion-dollar oil deal involving Serhat Gumrukcu, a native of Turkey who immigrated to the U.S. in 2013. Two other suspects, Jerry Banks and Aron Lee Ethridge, have also pleaded guilty to charges related to the murder-for-hire plot.
