The US conducted 6 defensive airstrikes and fired 18 anti-ship missiles in Yemen.

In response to two anti-ship ballistic missiles fired by the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels into the Red Sea, the US conducted six defensive airstrikes and fired 18 anti-ship missiles in Yemen. The missiles targeted a Singaporean-owned, Liberian-flagged ship but did not impact the vessel or result in any injuries or damages. The US military has reportedly shot down and destroyed over 100 Houthi missiles since January, while the Houthi rebels continue to launch attacks without signs of abating. The US Central Command stated that the actions were taken to protect freedom of navigation and make international waters safer and more secure for US Navy and merchant vessels.
