US-based Lyten achieves 90% yield in automated lithium-sulfur battery production, paving the way for scale-up and commercial deliveries in 2024.
Lyten, a US-based battery company, has achieved a 90% yield in its automated production line for lithium-sulfur batteries, using standard lithium-ion manufacturing equipment and processes. This milestone confirms the manufacturability of the battery, which is free of nickel, cobalt, manganese, and graphite. Lyten is now scaling up production to meet growing demand from EV, trucking, space, aerospace, and government customers, with commercial deliveries of lithium-sulfur cells for non-EV customers in aerospace and government applications expected in 2024.
