UK government modifies Boiler Upgrade Scheme, making heat pumps cheaper and easier to install, eliminating insulation requirement for £7,500 grants.
The UK government has announced changes to its Boiler Upgrade Scheme, making heat pumps cheaper and easier to install for families. Homeowners no longer need to install cavity wall or loft insulation to access £7,500 grants for heat pump installation. The changes could save families around £2,500 on upfront costs, while also reducing the costs associated with installing a heat pump on a semi-detached property. The new measures aim to help phase out gas boilers and increase clean electric heat pump installations to 600,000 per year by 2028.
