Trainline reports a 22% increase in group net ticket sales to £5.3bn, driven by rail travel recovery and fewer strikes.
Trainline, an online ticketing platform, reported a 22% increase in group net ticket sales to £5.3bn in the year to February 29, surpassing previous forecasts of growth between 17% and 22%. The company attributes the surge to a recovery in rail travel following the pandemic and fewer strikes than in the previous year. Trainline's UK consumer revenues rose by 21%, amounting to £3.5bn in ticket sales. The company aims to continue its growth in Europe by expanding its market share in key routes and benefiting from emerging competition among rail carriers.
