Spanish police have dismantled a network that profited off families of dead migrants, charging them for false information about loved ones who died at sea or onshore. 14 individuals have been detained in Almería, Murcía, and Jaén, with authorities seizing €70,000 and several vehicles. For years, the network exploited families in Algeria and Morocco, leading them to sign illegal contracts for body identification and repatriation purposes.
