Researchers identify seven genes linked to non-identical twin conception in women.

Researchers at QIMR Berghofer have identified seven genes that are linked to the likelihood of women conceiving non-identical twins. The findings, which come from studying DNA samples from more than 8,000 mothers of twins, could potentially lead to the development of a saliva test to predict a woman's chances of having twins. The discovery is also expected to aid family planning decisions.
