Nigerian President Bola Tinubu appointed Dr. Temitope Ilori as the first female Director-General of the National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA).

Nigerian President Bola Tinubu has appointed Dr. Temitope Ilori as the first female Director-General (DG) of the National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA). Dr. Ilori, a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Community Medicine at the University of Ibadan and a Consultant Family Physician at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, begins her four-year term on February 22, succeeding Gambo Aliyu who served as the DG from June 2019 to February 2024. Dr. Ilori is the first female to hold the position and brings a wealth of experience in HIV/AIDS policy formulation and strategic development to her new role.
