Maryland increased a landmark wage theft settlement for correctional officers to $23 million, following an investigation into unpaid wages for overtime work. The initial $13 million settlement last year did not include all affected employees, but the updated payment now includes all hourly Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services employees. This is the second-largest wage theft settlement for correctional officers in US history.
