Maharashtra government acquires Air India building in Mumbai for ₹1,601 crore, waiving ₹298.42 crore in dues.

The Maharashtra government has acquired the iconic Air India building in Mumbai for ₹1,601 crore, after the Union government approved the transfer. The state government agreed to waive ₹298.42 crore in dues that would have been owed by AI Assets Holding Company Ltd. The Air India Assets Holding Company Ltd was created to manage non-core assets and debt of Air India before its sale to the Tata Group.
