Infineon Technologies AG has acquired GaN Systems for $830m, strengthening its position in the power semiconductor market and expanding its technological capabilities. The deal allows Infineon to offer a wider range of devices, including silicon, silicon carbide, and gallium nitride. The acquisition follows a recent lawsuit filed by Infineon against Innoscience for allegedly infringing on its GaN power semiconductor patent.
