India's ranking on the UN's Human Development Index (HDI) has improved, climbing one step to 134th place out of 193 countries. Life expectancy increased by 67.7 years from the previous 62.7 years, and the GNI per capita rose by 6.3% to $6,951. India ranks 108th out of 193 countries on the Gender Inequality Index (GII) 2022, demonstrating a significant jump of 14 ranks compared to the previous year.
