The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids at 13 locations in Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Delhi in connection with a sand mining case involving former Cabinet Minister Gayatri Prajapati. The case began with a First Information Report filed by the Uttar Pradesh vigilance department against Prajapati and his associates, charging them with illegal sand mining and possession of disproportionate assets. The ED alleges that Prajapati abused his official position to amass disproportionate assets and engaged in money laundering.
