Climate protester Deanna "Violet" Coco, who blocked a major freeway during peak hour, forcing a woman to give birth on the side of the road, was released from prison before another planned protest. Coco was sentenced to 21 days in jail by Melbourne Magistrates Court following an Extinction Rebellion protest on the West Gate Bridge. She has appealed her sentence and faces additional court action as the Director of Public Prosecutions has launched an appeal regarding the sentence's inadequacy.
