China has issued a guideline to promote high-quality development of e-commerce in rural areas, aiming to align with the emerging digital economy trend and boost rural consumption. The Ministry of Commerce stated that the guideline, jointly issued by nine departments, proposes 14 detailed policies in six aspects, including building a multi-level rural e-commerce comprehensive service platform, accelerating the construction of a modern logistics and distribution system, and fostering diversified new e-commerce entities in rural areas. This move aims to improve rural residents' income and establish a new development pattern.
