Berlin's techno scene has been added to UNESCO's list of intangible cultural heritage, joining five other German traditions. This recognition will provide Berlin's techno clubs with access to more government funding and protection under planning laws. The techno scene originated in the early 90s, following the fall of the Berlin Wall, and has long been known for its vibrant club scene.
