Adelaide United footballer Josh Cavallo, the first openly gay player in the A-League, proposed to his partner Leighton Morrell at the team's home stadium, Coopers Stadium. Cavallo announced their engagement on Instagram, thanking the club for its support and for providing a safe space in football. He made history in 2021 by coming out publicly and his club later became the first in the A-Leagues to host pride games.
