Ontario's 34-year-old policing law is set to be overhauled next month, with changes covering oversight, discipline, and equipment. The overhaul follows the passing of the act five years ago and is aimed at modernizing and improving policing in the province. A demonstration of body camera usage by an officer was shown during a news conference in Surrey, B.C. in January 2024.
