21-year-old NY Rangers forward Matt Rempe suspended 4 games for elbowing NJ Devils defenseman Jonas Siegenthaler in head.
21-year-old New York Rangers forward Matt Rempe received a four-game suspension from the NHL for elbowing New Jersey Devils defenseman Jonas Siegenthaler in the head during a game on March 11. The NHL Department of Player Safety determined that Rempe's action was not an accidental contact and that Siegenthaler's movements did not turn a legal check into an illegal one. Rempe will miss the Rangers' games against the Carolina Hurricanes, Tampa Bay Lightning, Pittsburgh Penguins, and New York Islanders, returning for the game against the Winnipeg Jets on March 19.
