19-year-old Calgary Flames draft pick, Topi Ronni, was sentenced to a one-year suspended prison term in Finland for a rape committed when he was a minor. Ronni's Finnish Elite League team, Tappara Tampere, terminated his contract and the Flames renounced the rights to the unsigned player effective immediately. Ronni apologized for his actions in a statement on Tappara Tampere's website.
