The Washington Commanders sign quarterback Marcus Mariota to a one-year, $6M-$10M contract.
The Washington Commanders have signed quarterback Marcus Mariota to a one-year contract, reportedly worth $6 million with the possibility to rise to $10 million through incentives. Mariota, a 30-year-old journeyman QB, has previously played for the Tennessee Titans, Atlanta Falcons, and Philadelphia Eagles. The Commanders hold the No. 2 overall pick in April's draft, and are expected to select LSU's Jayden Daniels if USC's Caleb Williams is picked by the Chicago Bears at No. 1. This move comes after Commanders' quarterback Sam Howell finished 4-13 as the team's starter in the last season.
