Victoria's state-owned logging company, VicForests, will shut down by June 30, following the state government's decision to end native forest logging, which took effect on January 1. The company's 100 employees are aware of the closure and are being offered applications for about 80 other government jobs. The government had initially planned to phase out native logging by 2030.
