Victoria, Australia is investing in 25 neighbourhood batteries for 20 regional towns to reach ambitious energy storage targets. The Government has allocated $6 million for six battery projects, aiming to deliver over 4.2 megawatt hours of storage capacity. Among the towns selected for battery installations are popular tourist spots such as Phillip Island and Queenscliff. The state aims to achieve 95% renewable energy generation by 2035, with energy storage targets of at least 2.6 gigawatts by 2030 and 6.3GW by 2035.
