Uzbekistan plans to invest in Afghanistan's cement factory, coal extraction, and electricity production from coal. Foreign Minister Bakhtiyar Sahidov met with Acting Prime Minister Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, discussing Uzbekistan's intention to share its experiences in adapting economic and agricultural projects with Afghanistan. A technical delegation from Uzbekistan will assess the Afghan-Trans railway project.
