Thailand bans alcohol at Songkran water-splashing activities to reduce road accidents during the national alcoholic beverage control program (2022-27).

Thailand's Interior Ministry has announced that all Songkran water-splashing activities will be alcohol-free during the week event next month, and the alcohol ban will be enforced with special attention to prevent minors from accessing alcohol. The traditional Songkran public holiday runs from April 13 to 17, but the "World Songkran Festival 2024" will take place from April 1 to 21 to attract tourism.
