2 suspected copper thieves arrested in Sunnyvale, Santa Clara County, for stealing wires from VTA light rail platforms. The suspects, Danielle Mayo (60) and Frank Pacheco (55), were arrested and booked into San Jose's Main Jail on suspicion of grand theft, conspiracy, and possession of methamphetamine. Since January, there have been 24 cases of copper theft causing over $500,000 in damage to the VTA system.
