Orange County Public Schools revised its attendance policy after Madeline Soto's death, adding a morning call for absent students and planning a real-time attendance portal.
Orange County Public Schools (OCPS) revised its attendance policy following Madeline Soto's tragic death, introducing a new calling notification system for parents. Starting April 8, parents will receive an additional call at the start of the day for their absent child, in addition to the end-of-day call. The district plans to implement a real-time attendance portal next year, allowing parents to monitor their child's attendance period by period.
