Kansas City's Supermart El Torito was ordered to pay $155,000 for violating overtime pay laws. The U.S. Department of Labor found that the grocery store paid employees time-and-a-half for overtime between 41-58 hours a week, but paid those working over 58 hours at straight-time in cash. The store was also fined $187,546 for repeated violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act's overtime provisions.
