Japanese shipping firm MOL receives first Japan-built LNG-fueled car carrier Cerulean Ace, reducing emissions by up to 30%.
Japanese shipping major MOL has received the LNG-fueled car carrier Cerulean Ace, built by Shin Kurushima Dockyard. The vessel reduces CO2 emissions by about 25-30%, SOx emissions by 98%, and NOx emissions by about 85% compared to vessels using conventional fuel oil. MOL plans to operate 14 new LNG-fueled car carriers, with Cerulean Ace being the first of 11 built in Japan under the 'BLUE' series.
