He said that around 70% of UK fraud is committed by criminals abroad, with £3 billion lost to overseas accounts last year. Organised crime gangs are shunning 'old-fashioned' crimes such as bank robberies to target unsuspecting Britons in a digital global crime epidemic. Fraudsters can buy services online to help them target victims, such as using a criminal version of the Yellow Pages.
