The Illinois Education Association (IEA) released its annual "State of Education in Illinois" report, indicating concerns over the teacher shortage, teachers being underpaid and overworked, and the growing difficulty of teaching. In response, the IEA is urging lawmakers to address these issues by reforming the teacher pension system, implementing student loan forgiveness programs, and establishing salary minimums. The report also found that 65% of respondents support increased education spending.
