Brian Earl Johnston, a former US Marine, has been sentenced to life in prison and will serve at least 20 years for the premeditated murder of his estranged wife, Kelly Wilkinson. The 27-year-old mother of three was stabbed multiple times and set on fire at her Gold Coast home in April 2021. Johnston had been charged with breaching a domestic violence order and his bail conditions before pleading guilty to the murder.
