Former Honduras First Lady Ana García de Hernández announced her intention to run for the country's presidency next year, following her husband's recent U.S. drug trafficking conviction. Her husband, former President Juan Orlando Hernández, was found guilty of conspiring with drug traffickers moving tons of cocaine to the United States. Ana García de Hernández plans to seek the nomination of her husband's National party.
