40-year-old off-duty Ohatchee police officer Jeremy Wilson was fatally shot in Sylacauga on March 6 during a domestic violence altercation. Wilson, a former Talladega County sheriff's deputy, was found with a gunshot wound and treated on the scene before being transported to the hospital, where he died from his injuries. The Sylacugua Police Department is investigating, and all parties involved are cooperating.
