19-year-old Kelowna man dies in Alberta avalanche while skiing in backcountry with friend. Two men were skiing near Tower Peak in Kananaskis when an avalanche struck, burying one of them. The other escaped and alerted authorities. Canmore RCMP and Kananaskis Mountain Rescue recovered the victim's body the following day. Avalanche danger in the area is rated as considerable, and a special public avalanche warning is in effect.
