33-year-old Jamon S. Weaver from Georgia, identified as a suspect in a Michigan bank robbery, was killed in a standoff at Effingham's TA Truck Stop. Weaver reportedly demanded money from a Bank of America teller in Michigan and fled on a motorized scooter, leading police to track his semi-truck to the truck stop where he barricaded himself with a gun. The standoff lasted eight hours before Weaver took his own life.
