49-year-old Cynthia Marin from La Mesa, California drowned in Lake Havasu, Arizona after her improperly secured life jacket came off while she was swimming. Despite rescue efforts by the Mohave County Sheriff's Office Dive Rescue and Recovery Team, a Careflight helicopter, and side scan sonar technology, her body was found at a depth of 42 feet. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
