The abolition of inheritance tax in Sweden has been cited as a "win-win" scenario for the UK, with MP Ranil Jayawardena urging ministers to reconsider the tax. Sweden abolished inheritance tax in 2004 and since then, tax revenue has remained at less than 1% of all revenue to the Treasury - a similar proportion to the UK.
