20th season of Grey's Anatomy brings back Arizona (Jessica Capshaw); Callie (Sara Ramirez) does not return.
Grey's Anatomy season 20 will see the return of Arizona, played by Jessica Capshaw, but Callie, played by Sara Ramirez, will not join. Executive producer Meg Marinis explains that while they have an "open-door policy" for former cast members, scheduling and storyline fit make some returns more viable than others. Arizona's storyline in season 20 focuses on her specialty and her return to Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.
