India's first automobile in-plant railway siding project, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will help Maruti Suzuki dispatch 3 lakh finished cars by train annually. This will save 50,000 truck trips and reduce carbon emissions by 1,650 metric tonnes. The project, part of the PM Gati Shakti Yojana, is located at Maruti's plant in Hansalpur, Gujarat, and is expected to save 35 million liters of fossil fuel.
