A man canoeing in Black Hawk County, Iowa, died after likely falling into a bonfire at his campsite.

A man canoeing alone in Black Hawk County, Iowa, died after likely tripping into a bonfire he'd made for a campsite on the Cedar River. Deputies were called to the scene after the body was found on a sandbar between Gilbertville and La Porte City. The man's identity has not been released and an autopsy by the Iowa State Medical Examiner is expected.
