Varanasi: Jailed mafia don Mukhtar Ansari has been convicted for obtaining a license for a double-barrel gun in 1986 based on forged documents. The MP/MLA court found him guilty under sections 420 (cheating), 467 (forgery), 468, 120B (criminal conspiracy), and section 30 of the Arms Act. Ansari appeared before the court via video conferencing from Banda jail. The court will announce the quantum of punishment on Wednesday.
