High Court dismisses Mphoko's review application for discharge in criminal abuse of office case, trial to proceed.
Former Zimbabwe VP Phelekhezela Mphoko's review application against a magistrate's decision to dismiss his application for discharge has been dismissed by the High Court. Mphoko faces charges of criminal abuse of office and an alternative charge of defeating/obstructing justice. High Court judges ruled no exceptional circumstances for interference with lower court proceedings. Mphoko's case will proceed to trial.
