Ghana's Supreme Court ordered the Attorney General to file the state's defence within 14 days over a lawsuit filed by Prof. Kwesi Aning and IMANI Centre for Policy and Education. The lawsuit challenges President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's authority to dismiss officials in Ghana's internal security agencies without evidence of misconduct. Plaintiffs also argue against new presidents appointing heads of security agencies if the previous holders are still in service.
