The French government says it’s being targeted by unusual intense cyberattacks.

France experienced a massive cyberattack with unprecedented intensity, targeting several state bodies according to Prime Minister Gabriel Attal's office. While the attacks were not attributed to Russia, a crisis cell has been activated to deploy countermeasures. Several hacker groups, including Anonymous Sudan, claimed responsibility for the attacks. A Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack was used, overwhelming the target system with a massive number of requests, making it difficult to respond to legitimate users. The French government has been advocating for improved cyber defenses ahead of the Paris Olympics this summer and has been a vocal critic of Russia's actions in Ukraine.
