Former Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi is joining the Alberta NDP leadership race, challenging the "immoral" United Conservative government led by Premier Danielle Smith. Nenshi, who served as mayor from 2010 to 2021, has criticized the current government for being incompetent and dangerous, and believes that the NDP can broaden its base and offer a better alternative.
