First Nations University of Canada launches a unique 4-year Bachelor of Arts in Indigenous Journalism and Communications, the first of its kind in North America. The program, funded by Mastercard Foundation ($121,000/year, 5 years) and Inspirit Foundation ($100,000/year, 3 years), combines journalism and multimedia with Indigenous issues and languages. It aims to address the growing demand for Indigenous journalists and communication professionals.
