10 people convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment for the 2018 Hapur mob lynching case. The local court in Hapur found them guilty of killing 45-year-old Qasim Qureishi and assaulting 62-year-old Samaydeen based on a false rumor of cow slaughter. Additional District Judge Shweta Dixit also imposed a fine of ₹58,000 each on the convicts. The victims' side did not have any enmity against the accused and only sought justice.
