Australian schools receive NAPLAN preliminary results two months earlier than last year, allowing teachers to use the data more effectively in the classroom. Beginning on 13 March, 1.3 million students will participate in the national literacy and numeracy testing program, with preliminary results for all domains except writing to be released in term 2, four weeks after testing concludes. This earlier release addresses the criticism that results were delivered too late in the school year to be useful for teachers.
