20-year-old Madison Saltsburg died after falling 600 feet in icy conditions at Tuckerman Ravine, a popular skiing spot on Mount Washington in New Hampshire. Two other skiers were seriously injured during the same incident. The U.S. Forest Service and Mount Washington Avalanche Center issued warnings for the area, which is known for its changing hazards, including avalanches, open crevasse holes, icy steep slopes, and falling rocks and ice.
